Tom:
Heya. To connect to a VNC Server behind a LinkSys Router, you'll
have to do two things:
1. Setup a "port-range forwarding" in your LinkSys router. To get to
the configuration screen, open a web-browser anywhere on the LAN
that's behind the router, and put in the router's internal IP
address into the web-browser. Alternatively, use Kaboodle to auto-
discover your router, then point&click to open the configuration
page. The "port-range forwarding" section is in the "Advanced"
section, under "Applications and Gaming". You want a line like this:
Application Start End Protocol IP-Address Enable
VNC 5900 5900 TCP <vnc.server.ip.address> X
2. Once that's saved into your router, test it by pointing that web
browser to "www.GoToMyVNC.com". Run the scan there. If it can detect
your VNC Server at that IP Address, you should be able to connect any
VNC Viewer to that IP Address as well.
Hope this helps!
