Hi there,

Firslty my apologies as I am somewhat of a layman in IT terms. I have installed VNC server and the viewer works fine on another one of my machines within my home network by simplying typing the IP address of my local machine.

However when I try to access the server outside of my home network ie remotely I cannot access my server. I have a dsl connection to the web and I have a firewall that my vnc server sits behind. I have been trying to access the server from vnc client by typing my ip address and have realised that this is a local network ip address. I know the WAN IP address on the otherside of my firewall but how do I configure VNC server / firewall to allow me to access the server on this basis. I think I might have to dosome "port forwarding" on my firewall but am unsure of what to do.

I am sure I am very close to getting this set up but keep stumbling at the last hurdle (hopefully!)

Can you help me please?

Systems used are win2k

kind regards

David Tiffin
