Hi folks,

Forgive me if this has been answered elsewhere, I can't seem to find a
definitive answer anywhere.

My father lives about 300kkms away and often calls me with issues which are
difficult to resolve over the phone (as he's not really technically savvy)
and are usually ones which I can resolve when I'm sitting at his machine.
He does not have an account with any ISP.

Question is, using WinVNC, am I able to call his computer (using Dial-Up
Networking) and access his PC to fix.

I'm running 98SE and he's running the same (or he was last time I was at his
place).

I have followed the instructions in the "old faq" document, but after trying
to connect to a more technically savvy friend's machine, still find I'm no
closer to being able to provide remote assistance.

Any advice/assistance would be most appreciated.

thanks in advance

David LR
