That sentence doesn't parse.  Assuming it was intended to be:

"It does not reject nor shutdown after repeated failed log-ins."

Then it's incorrect.  VNC has had protection against brute-force password
cracking attacks since 1998, if I remember correctly.

On the whole, security by obscurity is equivalent to no security and so
theoretically giving out your IP address shouldn't do any harm, since you're
just removing obscurity and the associated (false) sense of security.

However, in practice it's better to avoid publishing such details, simply
because the likelihood is that your system has some security holes and that
at some point somebody will come along and try to use them - the less
information they have, the harder that will be.

So what I'm really saying is that Jack's points are bad in theory but good
in practice. :)
