apart from choosing a strong password, you and tom must not let go of
the possibilty to restrict ranges of connectable ip-addresses. in case
of dynamic assignment, a netmask of 255.255.255.0 for a single network
might do it. this narrows down the number of people to brute force yr.
password to clients of the same dialup provider.

so then, how about sniffing? or somebody watching over your shoulder
ala the fbi's carnivore?
