hi i recentley built myself a new comp and have networked my two comps together via a crossover cable and set it up as a workgroup.

both machines are running win 2000 professional and have lots of memory.

so i wanted to get a program that would allow me to control the old comp via a gui and i downloaded winvnc.

comp 1 (the old machine) and comp 2 (the new one) both have winvnc installed on them. it is an older version 3.3.3r i think.

now with vnc running on both machines comp 1 can log onto and see comp 2 with no problem. comp 2 on the other hand says "failed to access server"when i try to access comp 1.

i have completley uninstalled my firewalls and anitvirus stuff because i was told that this usually was the problem. still i have no luck. I have pinged both machines andthey have comeback fine. both machines have vnc installed as a service so they run automatically when started. have done lots of research on this program from the winvnc website and cant findanything that helps.

you guys are my last resort, if you cant help then im trashing vnc and buyin a kvm switch.
