Hi

We have been using a mixture of VNC 3.3.7 and 4.0b4 on a network of w2k
machines. We decided to try 4.0b4 because it seems to fix the unload from
the registry quirk in previous versions, this is great as 3.3.7 takes ages
to either remotely shut a machine or logout of a logged in machine (using
admin override). However I have found some issues that are forcing us to
keep most on 3.3.7 and endure the slow shutdowns. Maybe you guys can tell
me where I am going wrong.

1. On some of our slower machines with 16bit colours the screen does not
update properly, due to this you get lost in amount of artefacts left on the
screen, whereas 3.3.7 you could force a refresh I can not find this with 4.
Is there a reg hack to bring this feature back, or a way I can fix the
refresh issue?

2. We used to be able to get VNC to lock the screen on exit, which was and
still is an invaluable feature, again I can not find this on 4. Do we know
if it will ever be put back in?

Any help would be appreciated.

Some on the list may think this is a duplicate post from a few weeks ago,
apologise for this, I had email issues and lost all replies received from it
