What VNC version are you using?

Here's what works for me on Solaris 8, with RealVNC 4.0b4. You have to
set your font path to:

usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/misc,/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi,/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/F3bitmaps,/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/TTbitmaps,/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/Type1

And then there are some tweaks you can do to get fonts working properly
under some Java versions and CDE. Tell me if you need them.
