Just downloaded and installed RealVNC 3.3.7 on two elderly Windows98se machines. Now they are both set to have 1024x768x16 desktop but when I view one from the other I only get 8bit graphics.
Connection Info gives: Desktop 1024x768x16 Using depth 8 same software installed on other machines gives a 16 depth and works fine. I previously was using TightVNC and have left that installed. Would there be any registry settings I should change? I can only find a command line option to use 8-bit and not to force 16-bit and I have checked that the shortcut does not have this 8-bit option and even run directly from ProgramFiles using WindowsExplorer. Any help welcomed... Oh yes just tried using my old TightVNC viewer onto RealVNC server with same machines and it goes 16bit depth... strange??
