Hello, I found several how-tos on web, but none of them suits my situation. Basicaly I am novice to SSH tunneling and Putty, but I use VNC for several years in local network.
This is my situation: My computer (W2K) with local IP address 192.168.1.10. Here will be VNC client. | | V My linux server (Debian) with local IP address 192.168.1.200 and public address 212.55.x.x. This server has SSH port accessible from Internet and local network. | | V Internet | | V Firewall, that has no open ports from Internet | | V My friend's computer (W2K) with public IP 144.60.x.x (obtained from firewall's DHCP server). This IP cannot be pinged from Internet. But my friend can ping my linux server. Here will be VNC server (I have created user account for my friend on my linux server. When I started VNC server on my PC, friend created Putty session with SSH tunnel (hostname: 212.55.x.x; tunnel: forwarded local port: source: 5900, destination: 192.168.1.10:5900), and he could connect to VNC server on my PC directing his VNC client to localhost... But this is not the problem. I need reverse situation) Problem is that I cannot directly access VNC server on my friend's computer due to firewall. Can someone help, how to configure it? My logic says that my friend has to create Putty session to my linux server with some port forwarding specified (I cannot ping him, so he has to be somehow reachable - via his ssh connection to my linux server). But I have no idea what should I do on my computer to make it working... Any hint welcome. Thanks a lot for reading my mail.
