We've got an application running on linux that uses the X RENDER extension to draw its menus (don't ask me why). We can't see these through vncserver 3.3.7-1 (the vncserver that came with the appliance box) due to the RENDER extension not being supported.
I've tried my best to go through the mail archives to get an answer, but I'm still rather in the dark - I've found contradictory answers in different threads.
This is my best shot:
RENDER is not supported in RealVNC, nor will it be. If I want RENDER, I either use xf4vnc instead of vncserver, or I use vnc.so from the same project to export the local XFree86 display?
Am I right? Can I be gently corrected if not? Thanks!
