Hello

Did an rpm test install of the Redhat 7.3 RPM
(.i386.rpm) available for download, at the
http://www.realvnc.com/download.html site.

The test reported a 100% ok. The intended system is
Red Hat Linux 8.

Is this package, Redhat 7.3RPM (.i386.rpm)
recommended?

Should we just use the latest gzipped tar (.tar.gz)?

As far as I know, RH ships a vnc version since long (before 7.3) Best way is to install the packages that come with the distro.

If an update is needed, you can pick your choice in which, what or how to update.

If you have an updated rpm: use that for update if it is fitted for your installation. I can imagine a RedHat-prebuild rpm does no perfect update on SuSE.
If you have any (other) new package, just extract the binaries and replace your origional ones. An rpm package is also a tar format (maybe compressed by bzip or gzip). Hence you can just tar that file too.
