Andy,

VNCServer 4.0bx and 3.3.x can coexist on the same PC: the services will be
named differently (VNC Server Version 4 and VNC Server or something similar,
if I can remind exactly ).
Be sure the two services listen on different ports (e.g. 5900 and 5901):
otherwise the first service to start will lock the default (5900) port in
exclusive mode.

Cheers

Oggetto: Can 4b5 coexist with v3?

Hi,

I'm looking to try 4b5 to get around the issue discussed in thread "winVNC
server does not start as service, I have to stop/start every time". However,
there are times when I need scaling client, which I understand is not worked
into v4 yet. Can I run both at once, provided I use different install
directories, and different ports? I'm wondering if the services can coexist.

thanks,
andy
