I'm running VNC Server v4.0.0.26 under Windows 2K. Is there any way to add an access control list entry for a host name rather than only IP addresses (and/or address ranges)? Whenever I try this, the entry shows up in the list as "255.255.255.255/0.0.0.0". I would like to be able to specify "my-remote-server.com" (not the real name) in the entry field and have this expanded to "my-remote-server.com/255.255.255.255" so that name resolution occurs at the time of the connection attempt. The idea behind this is to allow for host names which are bound to dynamic IP addresses (e.g. via DynDNS, No-IP, etc.). I realize this isn't necessarily as secure as one might desire, but it's a lot easier than trying to manually determine what IP address a particular client might have.
Thanks, Mike _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
