I have installed VNC4 on my Solaris, Linux and XP computers all works well with a the exception of the cut and paste between viewer and local machine. I can cut and paste between 2 XP machines, but I can not between ANY machine and a Linux/Unix machine. Options on the Linux/Unix machines show that they should be sending and accepting clipboard content??
I donnot know vnc-4 details (still need to upgrade) but I do know with vnc-3: VNC only moves around with the selection buffers, where most current applications use the cut and paste bufferes.
My workaround is to start the `xclipboard` appliction and use that inbetween. From vnc to desktop: paste the stuff in the xclipboard and select it (so it is in reverse video). Now you can also paste it on your desktop system. IF that also happens to be X, you might need to paste it in an other clipboard window on the desktop.
The other way around is also using xclipboard, eventually at both sides.
