I tried it and it worked.  I'm using Win2000.  After adding the entry to the registry 
I had to stop the 
VNC server service and then restart it before the icon went away.  When I tried 
removing the registry 
entry, stopping and restarting the service, the icon didn't come back.  I didn't try 
rebooting the 
machine.  Maybe that will make it come back.
