Nils,

I use both Terminal Services and VNC to manage my systems. I'm not quite
clear about your question. Are you asking about the Windows username and
password, or something else.

The way I use my system is I access it through a VPN connection so I enter a
VPN username and password, then I can use either TS or VPN (or Remote
Desktop). I have my TS users trained to log out of the Windows system
before they disconnect (the act of logging out disconnects them) but you
don't have to do that - you can leave the session running on the server and
reconnect at a later time (but I have never tested that out). You can use
VNC in the same way (have your users log off Windows) but you have to
disconnect explicitly with VNC (if you log off in TS it automatically closes
the connection, VNC does not).

I don't think that answers your question about username/password directly
but I tried to describe what works. I think the short answer is you don't
have to do anything new about username/password with VNC, just make sure
your boss closes the connection when he logs out - it's not good for
security to have open connections hanging around.

Alan.

Subject: How to create usernames

I want to know how to create usernames with passwords, because my boss wants
to use RealVNC as an
alternative to the TerminalServicesClient!
And is it possible at all??

thanks and greetings
