I checked the manual (thanks William).

It DOES work , that means:
The password prompt does show up, but the problem is no matter what I do,
the password authentication will fail.

I made the changes in XF86Config (screen section and password field has
been set). I also checked the vnc.o module.

I also tried to re-define the password using:
vncpasswd /root/.vnc/passwd

But the password always fails.

Is there anything else to configure? ....... William do you have any idea?

Perhaps you can provide us with more information about your setup.  And
some log files from X would be nice.
