I have VPN client up and running on my home computer to connects with the Laboratory machines.
So far I've been using VPN to connect remotely from my home computer running Linux/SuSE9.1 to other Linux platforms in the Lab (mainly Red Hat.. some runs SuSE 9.0). Afte the VPN connection is established I can ssh to any computer in the Lab
where I have an account.
Now time has come to connect from my home computer running Linux/SuSE to the Energy and Engineering
Science Division where they only have Windows systems ...
They do not allow telnet for security reasons. But Windows does not support ssh ...
I was suggested VNC which is new to me .
I have some basic qiuestions/doubts about it. First of all, shall I need to install VNC Client or Server on my home computer running SuSE ? Does the remote Lab computer, running Windows, need to run the VNC counterpart (Server or Client) ?
How does VNC interface with VPN ? Can they coexist together ?
Thank you in advance.
