No, I just click on 'Ok' when the Server specification box appears.
   The server name looks like
my.server.name:0 (without the <> of course)
I have also noticed that it takes a longer time to appear than with
   IE6.

Philippe,

Are you changing the contents of the Server specification box in the viewer,
when it appears?

I have tried to connect this morning to my personal computer
with IE6 (with Microsoft Java machine) with no problem. Then
I have open a connection with Firefox and get the following
error (java console output) before the server can ask me for
my password:

        Philippe,

When you say "I always get a timeout error", is that at
the point of
downloading the Java viewer, or at the point of trying
to connect back to
        the server?

                Subject: VNC viewer problem

                   Hi all VNC Fans !
I have the following problem with the JAVA
viewer. In
                order to access
my personal computer from my office I
have to use the
                JAVA applet
because I'm behind a proxy server. If I
use IE 6 with
                Microsoft Java
machine no problems at all. Since several
weeks I have
                started to use
Mozilla Firefox browser, but with it I
cannot connect to
                my computer
(I always get a timeout error). Moreover if
I use the Sun
                java machine
(JRE 1.4.2.05) with IE6 I get the same
problem. Does
                anyone have an
                   idea to solve this problem.
                   Thanks.
