I too installed SP2 and cannot get VNC to run. I am not a techie, just a user and would appreciate instructions on how to get it up an running. I have disabled the SP2 firewall on the server and the client with no luck. I have also turned the firewall on and opened ports 5800 and 5900 and made wincnc an"exception" program. Nothing works. Do I have to remove SP2? If so, how do I do that? Thanks in advance.

The easiest thing I've come up with for updating firewall settings on systems quickly after SP2 is the following reg file...
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\StandardProfile\GloballyOpenPorts\List] "5900:TCP"="5900:TCP:*:Enabled:VNC" "5800:TCP"="5800:TCP:*:Enabled:VNC Java"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\StandardProfile\GloballyOpenPorts\List] "5900:TCP"="5900:TCP:*:Enabled:VNC" "5800:TCP"="5800:TCP:*:Enabled:VNC Java"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\StandardProfile\GloballyOpenPorts\List] "5900:TCP"="5900:TCP:*:Enabled:VNC" "5800:TCP"="5800:TCP:*:Enabled:VNC Java"
Just copy the above to a text file and rename it something like "VNC.REG" and then opposite mouse click it and select "Merge" and that should do it.
