By browser blocked an ActiveX application.

Thing is, there are already port scanners available that will do what yours does. I
have one at the office that can easily locate VNC servers.

Still, mute point regardless. A port scanner will not usually make it past a
correctly configured firewall. I should know. Besides, as an example, yes, I use VNC
to remote several computers, but it's through an encrypted link (Not SSL) so a scan
would be worthless.

Now, what I think you should do not to attract the likes of me is to do something that
guarantees privacy and that you somehow prove that you are not playing a "Mountain
comes to Mohammed" game as like someone else that has replied, there will be people
that are thinking that you're `facility` is being used to discover the whereabouts of
VNC servers without blindly scanning huge IP address ranges.

With the amount of viruses and port scanners that are out there, this sort of
suspicion is rife.

Now, maybe if you released a program that people could run on a sand-boxed computer
then that may be a better way of doing things.

I do have such a computer to test software and it's not the first time I've tried
something that looks like a legitimate port scanner only to find out that what I'm
trying out is also trying to send it's results somewhere else without my explicit
authority.

So, apologies if I was abrupt. I thought, "another port scanner!?" and saw red, but
also see the reasoning behind me seeing read. As in who are you? Can anyone trust
you? Are you gathering a list of VNC servers to try and examine on the quiet?

If I did what you have just done, I suppose I would expect to get exactly the same
treatment from someone else.

Hope that clears the air. . .
