Sorry, Biggie... UltraVnc flavor of vnc has file transfer built.in... I believe the latest version of Tightvnc also, but only win <-> win. One of the major uses of VNC is remote support/admin, it is often required that the admin install new files, so a file transfer is very handy... In theory you are right, but the reality is that it's usefull. There have been discusions about this for years, where windows users wanted it (since file transfer is more dificult there), and Unix users didn't (Since they are firm believers in little tools that mix well, and not Monster applications that reinvent everything)... The state of things is the windows users get it, the unix don't... I guess everybody is happy...
