Hello,

I recently installed VNC Server 4.0 on our Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000
Server. I set the password and I was able to connect using the viewer. I
tested the connection from home using a VPN connection through our firewall
and it worked as well.

Today, I had our Europe office install the VNC server on their Windows NT
4.0 server and set the password. We have a VPN between locations. I
started the viewer on my Windows XP Pro SP1 workstation, entered the server
ip and I was prompted for the password.

I entered the password and received 'authentication failure' from the VNC
viewer.

In the archives, someone said to try telneting to the server with port 5900.
I did that and I received the header information RFB 003.003. I had the
Europe office use all the defaults during the installation of the VNC server
just as I did here in the U.S.

Does any one have any ideas for me?

Thanks.
