Thanks, Angelo. I was able to get that working. Very cool and lots
cheaper than GoToMyPC.

Wait!!!! VNC can do what you want. And its not to hard to set up either.
SETUP
first install vnc on her computer (need server for sure)
set up server to run as a service OR show her how to start/stop it in user mode
create a batch file with the following contents (make a shortut to it
somewhere easy to get to)
rem Start Batfile
"C:\Program Files\RealVNC\VNC4\winvnc4.exe" -connect your.domain.org
rem End Batfile
On your router forward port 5500 to the computer you will use to remote control.
TO USE:
On your computer - Run this program off the start menu
"Run Listening VNC Viewer"
On Her Computer run the shortcut to the batchfile you created
The only caveat is you should use a domain name as your ip may change.
you can sign up for some free DNS servers at dynadns.org or no-ip.com
then u run a service that updates their server with your ip. you only
will get to pick the first part of the domain eg. angelo.no-ip.org
they pick the second part.....
Anyways Good Luck.
Angelo
P.S. - I live in WI too!

I've been using VNC successfully in an intranet network for some time.
I've also been able to access my home PC from my office but there I have
control of the firewall at both ends and I'm able to open up the
appropriate ports. Now I'd like to be able to hook up to my daughter's
PC at college and I'd like to clarify if this is possible. She is hooked
up to the college's broadband network so she is behind a firewall with
no access to port configuration. Is there a method of her initiating the
connection from behind the firewall and providing access to her PC using
VNC? My guess is that the firewall the host PC is behind must always
have ports opened for access.
In this circumstance is the only alternative GoToMyPC?
Thanks.
