I think the point everyone is agreeing on is that VNC is not related
to file transfer.

RealVNC does not provide a way to copy files from one computer to another;  
If you can copy between the two computers without vnc then you can do it with.
If you can not copy between the two computers without vnc then you
cannot do it with.

some forms of vnc (ultra and tight I think) do ADD the ability to
transfer files if BOTH client and server are the same flavor.
