I don't think this is very likely, but TightVNC had a problem on solaris where the server crashed if I used netscape to visit www.netscape.com. It was fixed with a port of a fix from RealVNC in their most recent version (TightVNC 1.2.9). That means RealVNC had the fix first, so if you're using an up-to-date version, it probably isn't the problem. I mention it just in case. I'm not sure if your on solaris, but with your email, maybe.
