I have set up my XFree86 configuration file to load vnc.so so that I can use
a vncviewer to view display X:0. This seems to connect and work ok. However
when the remote viewer is terminated the X Server crashes on the server
providing a vncserver via vnc.so.
I have tried this from both linux and NT V4 vncviewers.
I am running XFree86 V4.2.0
[EMAIL PROTECTED] dbwhatu]# XFree86 -version
XFree86 Version 4.2.0 / X Window System
(protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6600)
Release Date: 23 January 2002
If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your card is
newer than the above date, look for a newer version before
reporting problems. (See http://www.XFree86.Org/)
Build Operating System: Linux 2.4.18-1mdksmp i686 [ELF]
Module Loader present
[EMAIL PROTECTED] dbwhatu]#
The screen dump shows a singnal 11, (SIGSEGV) but there appears to be no
information in /var/log/XFree86.0.log.
I have followed an example of the XF86Configfile which includes options which
are not recognised by my system. Have I put them in the wrong section ?
(WW) S3VIRGE(0): Option "passwordFile" is not used
(WW) S3VIRGE(0): Option "usevnc" is not used
(WW) S3VIRGE(0): Option "rfbport" is not used
(WW) S3VIRGE(0): Option "dontdisconnect" is not used
Any Ideas ?
Cheers
Simon.
