Little bit of step by step - the way I do it...... Connect to the Host Type in the password After you are connected successfully, bring up the vnc menu - thats F8 by default or right click on title bar or in tray. Choose Options Click on the defaults tab Click Save Configuration file as After picking a location and a file name it will ask you if you want to save the password
Then you will have a file that you can double click to connect. IMPORTANT - you are storing the password in that file, lose the file and your security is compromised. --Angelo On Thu, 2 Dec 2004 17:57:03 -0000, James Weatherall <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Louis, > > This can be achieved by using .vnc configuration files under Windows, or by > using the PasswordFile option under Unix. > > Wez @ RealVNC Ltd. > > > > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of louis > > Sent: 02 December 2004 17:19 > > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Subject: Start vncviewer from command line > > > > Hi there > > > > > > > > How can I start VNC viewer from the command line without > > being prompted > > for a password? > > > > > > > > I'm looking for something to this effect: vncviewer -p mypassword > > mymachine:0 > > > > > > > > Any ideas? > > > > > > > > Cheers > > > > Louis > > _______________________________________________ > > VNC-List mailing list > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > To remove yourself from the list visit: > > http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list > _______________________________________________ > VNC-List mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > To remove yourself from the list visit: > http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
