I am having problems connecting to an XP Home edition. We are on a local network. Please advise.
Do you have Windows XP Service Pack 2? If so, do you have the windows xp firewall running? If so, then that is your problem. You can A) Shut it off, of B) Add the port 5900 to the ok list.
If you want to enable the web java viewer, you want to add port 5800 as well.
