Hi, I found out that when I select a different them in gnome, these settings are not applicable for VNC logins. In other words, the local desktop and VNC desktop for the same user cannot have the same theme settings (I guess it must be a sharing violation). The funny thing is that for the default theme settings it WILL work. Gnome saves settings in ~/.gconfd and/or ~/.gconf and somehow when I'm logged in on the console VNC can't handle the theme settings (desktop icons and window styles, etc...) In that case I first have to log out locally and then log in using VNC, that's the only way for me to get this to work. Once again this does not apply for the default settings (so I guess this prooves it MUST be possible to have it the same).
This is my ~/.vnc/xstartup: #!/bin/sh # Uncomment the following two lines for normal desktop: unset SESSION_MANAGER exec /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc My VNC server on my linuxbox is: vnc-server-4.0-8 Has anyone a solution for me? TIA! Mauce _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
