Rick:
You really only need to know the IP address of your "gateway"
machine/router. If you are doing NAT with port-forwarding you can route a
specific port on the router/gateway machine to a specific port on a specific
machine... i.e. port 5900 on the router gets forwarded to port 5900 on
machine #1, port 5901 on the router gets forwarded to port 5900 on machine
#2 and so on...
As for always knowing the remote IP, you can know that by using a Dynamic
DNS provider such as no-ip.com, dyndns.org or one of several others, all
free. By running one of their clients, you can keep your dns entry updated
automatically, even if the IP address changes. Some routers even support
dynamic DNS providers in the config.

I would like to be able to connect to my VNC Server from any machine on the
Internet. On the server properties "Connections" tab, it appears to be
asking for specific IP addresses which I would not always know if advance.
Is it necessary to fill these in or do I get around that by running VNC in
service mode rather than user mode?
