I use VNC to operate a PC where is running a CFTV DVR (digital video recorder)
software (in Windows XP). The best combination of image quality and response
time at client side was obtained with a ultravnc server running at the server
side and Real VNC4 running at client sides (both Unix or Windows clients).
This application is problably unusual and the DVR uses the video board more
than most regular applications. The DVR shows up to 8 cameras which images
are been digitized, displayed and recorded. I tested many combinations of vnc
flavors at client sides and server side. The best one is the above.
