In regards to these two threads: http://www.realvnc.com/pipermail/vnc-list/2004-September/046957.html http://www.realvnc.com/pipermail/vnc-list/2004-October/047763.html I also confirm that once Remote Desktop is used to connect to a machine, attempts at VNC connection yields the following error: "SelectObject to CompatibleDC failed: The operation completed successfully. (0)" This was with VNC 4.1.1 to a Widnows XP SP1 machine from a Windows XP SP2 machine. My temporary workaround is to reboot the server machine. Upon restart, I can make VNC connection until I again use Remote Desktop.
