I'm not that familiar with Windows XP, but maybe you can tell it to use DNS
for lookups instead and run an in-house DNS server behind the firewall to
handle this for you?

I dont have the choice of making them static.
Iam not the admin. I dont run the dns server either.
But everything is on one Lan.
