I am the Network Administrator of a fairly large network (150 Macs & 100 PCs). We use Apple Remote Desktop Admin 2.1 to manage all of our Macs (OS 10.3.7). I would like to use it to manage the PCs as well. After installing RealVNC on an XP client machine I am able to observe the desktop, but can not control it. I receive the message 3You are not authorized to control...2
ARD 2.1 uses settings from the client Mac for authentication and permissions. I9m not sure on the PC. I set the password in RealVNC and when I am using ARD Admin, as I mentioned, I can view, but Not control. If I set RealVNC to 3No Authentication2 I am unable to view as well as unable to control.
