I have a similar issue, but for keyboard & mouse. I have three machines on my desk - Win XP, Linux & Solaris. I've found that running the Cygwin X server on Windows and using x2x from it works very well. My WinXP monitor is in the middle, with the Linux and Solaris ones to the west and east respectively. This doesn't let you move windows between screens, but the mouse and keyboard do move. Also copy works from Linux -> WinXP (mostly), but I've not seen it work the other way (so far!)

I do have to kill & restart the x2x processes every so often, but it saves so much time & effort that the little hassle of this is mitigated.

Cygwin: www.cygwin.com - This also provides x2x - it's under the X11 section in the installer.

Hope this helps,

Alasdair

I've been in need of some software that sounds like it could be done using VNC
code. I have 2 computers and a laptop at home for a total of 3 monitors.
What I've been looking for is something such that when I drag a window off the
left side of my middle monitor, it will appear as an independent VNC window
over on my left monitor. Same thing with mouse movements; if I moved my mouse
off the right side of the middle screen, it would appear via VNC on the right
monitor and that computer would receive keyboard input. Does such a thing
exist for windows? At least the mouse support would be nice.
