Daniel, Hurrumph.... Apparently, as per my disclaimer, I was wrong in this instance & the opinion I gave below applies only to the LGPL (Lesser GNU Public License), not to the GPL.
If it is the case that your application's functionality depends upon the presence of VNC components then any package that includes both is a "derived work" and as such the whole is subject to the requirements of the GPL. How this affects your application is something you will need to seek professional legal advice on.
