1) Download VNC Free Edition version 4.1 at
http://www.realvnc.com/products/free/4.1/download.html
2) Install on the PC you want to monitor - it's easier to install it as
a service.
3) On the viewer PC, run your browser, and in the address bar go to
http://xx.yy.aa.bb:5800 where xx.yy.aa.bb is the IP address of the PC
you want to monitor.

I have tried this on both IE and Mozilla Firefox, and it works a treat.
