Steve & Walt,

Steve's instructions apply only to old versions of VNC and software based on
it. VNC 4 series servers will automatically log connections to the
Application Event Log, if running under Windows NT/2K/XP etc.

Regards,

Wez @ RealVNC Ltd.

You may need to restart the VNC service on the server for the setting to
take effect.

1. Edit the DebugMode to 2 (DWORD) in the registry of the server. The
registry location depends on the version of VNC you are running 2. Restart
the VNC services 3. Connect and check for winvnc.log

correct.

Winvnc.log in the folder that VNC is located in when the debug level is set
to 2.

I did try that but did not see a log anywhere. Do you have instructions.

You can set the debugging on the VNC server to log connection attempts. You
do this with the DebugLevel and DebugMode settings in the registry. You can
get a list of registry settings at http://www.vncscan.com/vs/UltraVNCReg.htm
or http://www.realvnc.com/products/free/4.1/winvnc.html

Hope this helps!
