actually, I think this is a systray issue. I use v3.3.7 and can force
the ghost icons by doing and explicit kill to the process (kill -9 or
taskkill /f) then restarting the service and the service helper.

Subject: Extra VNC Tray Icons for VNC Server

Hi,

I use the free Real VNC service on a Windows XP Home PC that sleeps when

it's not in use. All is well, except that sometimes when I return to
the PC after it's been unattended for some time I see several VNC icons
in the tray. If I move the pointer over the icons, all but the real one

disappears as the pointer passes over it. I don't know when the extra
icons appear. I've tried to force them to appear by sleeping and then
awaking the machine, but I've always failed.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks,
Mike Albert
