I already tried that.  Still have same problem when log out 
occurs...apps die .

Even tried "nohup" inside xstartup file in front of xterm, vncconfig 
lines to see if that made a difference.....it did not.


In Solaris,  nohup does not insulate the command from the SIGTERM

   /usr/bin/nohup
      Processes  run  by  /usr/bin/nohup   are  immune  to  SIGHUP
      (hangup) and SIGQUIT (quit) signals.

      The nohup  utility does not arrange to make processes immune
      to  a  SIGTERM (terminate) signal

Now whether that is pointing to the cause or not is anyone's guess......
