If you had asked them for those files, maybe they would have given them to you. I think you told them that they *had* to give the file(s) to you, which was not true (as many postings have clearly shown, I think). Maybe you should try to start over.
The VNC developers can do whatever they please with VNC, but they can't retract the GPL from code that is already released. They can, however, distribute binaries without source if they want to (in fact they do this with the VNC Enterprise Edition). The GPL is a legal document that will not help you in an effort to get files from the VNC developers. If you don't believe me (or anyone else), contact an attorney.
