Vince,

There's no file transfer functionality in VNC 3 either! (File transfer is
something we are currently working on)

If you're using your own installers then the solution to all of the problems
you're having is to make your installers configure the two versions for
different ports and file associations(*).

Cheers,

Wez @ RealVNC Ltd.

(*) Actually, more than one app can be associated with a file extension, so
you could have both viewers usable for .vnc files on the same machine if you
wanted.

To start with the last one, there is no file transfer function on V4.

At the time, i use my own installer without user interface.

Vince,

Firstly, if you are installing VNC Server on a system, you can simply omit
VNC Viewer from the install in order to avoid a clash between VNC Viewer 3
and VNC Viewer 4 over the .vnc extension.

If for some reason you want to be able to use both viewers on the same
system, just create your own custom extension and associate VNC Viewer 4
with it, and leave the .vnc extension for VNC Viewer 3.

Fundamentally, though, why do you want to use both in the first place?

Regards,

Wez @ RealVNC Ltd.
