another option, if you really want to hide the vnc icon, is to adjust the autohide of systray icons to "always hide" the vnc icon. out of sight out of mind seems to be the rule... I've found only one exception out of 150 corporate workstations (roughly 3 users each, one per shift).
is it the fact that they are being watched or the controls you wish to conceal? --- erik -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Mark Jacobs Sent: Tuesday, May 10, 2005 04:12 To: Real VNC List Subject: Re: Blinking Mouse Cursor / Systray Icon I'm assuming you are using VNC version 4.1 or better. 1) You can rid yourself of the flashing/blinking mouse cursor, by unchecking the "Alpha Blending" option on the server options. 2) You cannot do anything about the change in colour of the tray icon. I was fortunate enough to have the whole screen to paint to in my application, so I put a backdrop window that hid the whole screen including the Start Bar. In your situation, you are not ensuring "quality control" like I was, so it is not so important that the kids can see they're being monitored. Just leave your viewer on all the time, and they'll be too paranoid to go anywhere nasty on the net!
