One of the recent posts have me hope that this problem was solved, mainly the connection via internet for Server to View RealVNC, across high speed cable. Following the advice of that hopeful solution, by David Tobey, I went into Control Panel | Windows Firewall, but found that I had already disabled the entire Windows Firewall utility at both ends, the Server and the Viewer, because of earlier conflicts with other software. But was still not able to get past the above prompt: "unable to connect to host: Connection timed out (10060)".
I then went into my Zone Alarm and entered the IP addresses as "trusted", and "Allowed" IP in and out for port 5900 under both levels of Internet Zone Security, "High" and "Medium". I am using Win XP Pro at both ends.
Any other ideas how to make this work? thanks _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [email protected] To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
