Hello every one:

I am new to the world of Real VNC and I need your help.

Have a desktop computer w/Windows-XP w/SP2 on the 2nd flr
that I want to use (as if I was in front of it) from 1st flr laptop w/Windows
2000 pro w/SP4.

I downloaded full Real VNC (free version) on the desktop computer & just a
viewer on the laptop. Configured both w/appropriately matching passwords. But,
I was unable to log on to the desktop neither in service or the user mode.
Registering service etc didn't help. Then I don't know but w/several different
attempts I was able to see the desktop (slow & sluggish cursor movements - even
w/wallpaper & backgrounds removed). I believe I must be in a USER mode as it
simply refuses to recognize a SERVICE mode. Also, w/rebooting you loose the
settings so that you have to manually start that mode and then can use it from
downstairs. I do not remember what made that connection .. just once ... butm
after that all attempts to reconnect have failed.

Any suggestions on how I can streamline this installation such that when the
desktop is powered it has VNC icon in the sys tray & is ready to be used by a
viewer installed on the laptop as if I was seating in front of the desktop.

I work in the health care field and quite novice to this ... so any & all your
help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
