I ran the xdypinfo as you suggested, and they are different...but I don't know
which things are important. I attach the 2 screen
ouputs and maybe you (or anyone :)
can spot the problem and tell me if VNC can deal with it in some
fashion......time passes.....I can't send them as attachments, so I

Tim,
The fact that the colours are only wrong for certain parts of the CATIA
window and not for others suggests some sort of issue with CATIA not
handling some visuals and/or pixel formats correctly.
It may be worth running xdpyinfo on an X server on which CATIA displays
correctly, and on an VNC X server and checking which pixel depths the two
support - perhaps CATIA requires a depth not normally supported by VNC
server.
