I ran KDE desktop sharing on the Linux box in my office and use VNC on Window
XP from my home to access. The problem is that the response is VERY slow. The
screen comes out line by line, like an old dialup modem. When I use top on the
Linux to see resource usage, the X process take more than 60% of CPU. But if I
use vncserver on the box and connect to it, things are much better.
What could be the problem? Is there any configuration on the Linux box that I
can change to improve the situation? I like the desktop sharing feature since
I can continue with what I started in office. But the slow response is really
bad.
Any information will be greatly appreciated.
