Thanks...that explains it!  (I'd done some Googling but the *symptom* isn't 
listed -- I'd suggest (if I could figure out a way to on the site, as a free 
version user) that they add the symptoms to the page you listed, to increase 
the odds that someone will figure it out.  OTOH, if there's about to be a 4.2 
(or 5.0?) with a fix, maybe it doesn't matter.

And this also explains why occasionally I *can* get in -- she logged on *first* 
and so has session zero.
